Love Island’s Wes and Laura in ‘heated’ clash

Love Island’s Wes Nelson and Laura Anderson are at a "make or break" stage of their coupling after a "heated" clash.
The pair’s relationship looks to be hanging in the balance after a bombshell confrontation on tonight’s (19.06.18) episode, after which the 29-year-old air stewardess admits she "can’t be bothered" to continue with their romance if she is constantly arguing with the 20-year-old nuclear systems design engineer.
Laura – who has been with Wes since the launch episode more than two weeks ago – says: "I can just see us clashing. I can’t be bothered with it.
"I thought we were on the same wavelength but when it comes to discussing our relationship, clearly we’re not.
"I’m not going to invest in someone that I don’t see a future with, I’ve got no time for that.
"As soon as you start arguing with someone that’s what your relationship becomes. If you’re not making me feel good and happy with myself, why would I want to be around you? We shall see, I’m not going to hold my breath if I’m honest.
"Today is definitely make or break. If he’s sulking or in a mood and he doesn’t give me any affection and isn’t being fun and making me feel like a priority I’m not going to waste my time with someone who makes me feel like s**t about myself."
Wes – who went on a date with new Islander Ellie Brown on last night’s (18.06.18) episode – admits his and Laura’s clashes could start to become a "burden" for their coupling if they continue in the same way.
He says: "We had a complete difference of opinions and I still have a complete different opinion with Laura. It did get heated. Not to the point where we’re screaming at each other, but to the point where we couldn’t see eye to eye. I still don’t see eye to eye.
"Yes you learn from arguments but you never forget them. That’s not necessarily a bad thing.
"If it keeps repeating and it’s an on-going problem, that problem is then going to start to fester and it’s going to become a bigger problem and it’s going to be a burden carrying forward."
Wes later admits that 20-year-old business development manager Ellie could be more on his wavelength than Laura.
He says: "I think Ellie’s a really nice girl. She’s very like-minded. And obviously with her being 20 she’s sort of on the same chapter of her life as I am."
Despite the blazing row, Laura insists she wants to "fight" for Wes’ affections.
She says: "I will happily fight for him. I’m not going to sit back and be miserable and watch someone else move in."
‘Love Island’ continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
