Sam Bird has quit the ‘Love Island’ Whatsapp group – just a day after his girlfriend Georgia Steel left the chat following a series of behind-the-scenes rows.
The 20-year-old drama student shocked her fellow contestants earlier this week when she decided to leave the group following Monday (30.07.18) night’s finale, and it seems her boyfriend is sticking to his guns and remaining "loyal" by following suit.
Frankie Foster – who briefly appeared in the villa and found love with Samira Mighty – told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I think it was an accident. Sam joined back in and said ‘s*** I left the wrong group.’
"Sam and Gee both left and I think Sam just left the wrong group. There’s so much going on in that group you lose track. I think they’re both back in now."
However, the 22-year-old hunk has admitted he’s "losing track" of everyone in the chat because there are people in there that he never met due to his early exit.
He explained: "We’ve obviously all got loads going on – we’re doing similar stuff. People will chuck a message in, [saying] ‘who’s doing this tonight?’. The group chat is still busy. I’ll meet people at an event or on a night out I’ve never met but they’re from the show and you instantly get on because you’ve shared the same experience."
Samira previously teased that all will be revealed in ‘Love Island: The Reunion’ – the final episode of the 2018 series – due to air this Sunday on ITV2.
When asked why Georgia may have left the Whatsapp group, Samira said earlier this week: "Watch on Sunday it’ll be interesting."
During her time in the villa, tensions were high as Georgia had bust-ups with 29-year-old Laura Anderson about her kiss with Jack Fowler and refused to forgive Ellie Brown, 20, after she was called an "ugly c***".
Georgia’s mum also spoke out against the "bulling" tactics of the contestants and called it "one of the worst moments" of the series.
Her mum said: "One of the worst moments for me was when all of the girls went against her and called her a liar. That was bullying. I was so upset, I paced around my living room, up and down past the coffee table, and I was crying.
"I was so angry so I decided that I had to call ITV to check that my little girl was OK. They assured me that she was which helped."
