Love Island’s Laura Anderson was left "devastated" when her ex-boyfriend Max Evans left her.
The 29-year-old air stewardess used to date the Scottish professional rugby player but is said to have been gutted when the 34-year-old hunk started going out with Katy Johnson, who he went on to marry, but they later split.
A TV source said: "Laura was devastated when Max abruptly left her for Katy and it took her a lot of time to get over it. But it was a long time ago now and he’s firmly in her past."
However, Laura – who has coupled up with design engineer Wes Nelson on the ITV2 show – is said to now "feel wiser" following the experience with Max.
The source added to The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: "She learned a lot about herself and relationships from the experience and feels wiser because of it."
Before heading into the famous villa, Laura alluded to her romance with Max – whose brother is former rugby star Thom Evans – saying she previously dated someone who "played international rugby" and that she thought he went on marry his next girlfriend.
Laura has also romanced another rugby ace, former Scarlets pro Mike Poole.
According to reports last week, the pair’s relationship broke up just months after she posted selfies wearing a sparkler on her ring finger.
She shared one of the snaps of herself wearing a band on the digit in August 2016, just two months after she publicly asked Mike if he would be popping the question anytime soon.
Captioning a picture from a hen do, she wrote "are we next? The girls want another hen next year. We need to please the people (sic)"
But just three months later she appeared in a picture taken in the gym without the ring on, and Mike doesn’t seem to have appeared on her Instagram since.
In September 2016, she posted the quote: "Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to let go at some point in order to move forward (sic)"
