Ellie Brown’s ex-boyfriend has accused her of choosing "fame over their relationship" after she dramatically dumped him just days before she entered the ‘Love Island’ villa.
The 20-year-old blonde bombshell called time on her relationship with recruitment boss Jay Mihcioglu, 29, just before she was seen strutting her stuff in the love shack last week and, although he has wished her "luck" on the dating show, he has admitted he was shocked when he found out what she was doing and thinks she’s chasing fame.
Speaking to the MailOnline, he said: "She came over to my apartment and we spent the night together. We were in bed together just hours before she left for ‘Love Island’. I was speechless when she told me she was going off the next day and I said: ‘Why the hell didn’t you tell me before? You’re giving up on us for the opportunity of fame. I can’t stop you going and I wish you luck but it’s such a shock. It’s madness.’
"I couldn’t believe it. I had no idea. I was speechless and I’m gutted because I absolutely adore her. I’m gutted. She wants fame, she doesn’t want me."
The businessman has been tuning in to watch Ellie try and find true love in the villa but has admitted it’s gut wrenching to see her pucker up with "other fellas" on screen.
He explained: "I can’t not see but it’s galling to watch her kissing and flirting with other fellas. She was in a relationship with me last week and now I’m history."
Jay first met Ellie 16 months ago on a night out but they split up just after Christmas because of their "nine-year age gap" and rekindled things in March.
He said: "El’s an extremely pretty girl and we just click. It was tough when we broke up in December but luckily we worked things out and got back together a few months ago."
The hunk has said Ellie started going to the gym twice a day before she popped up in the villa but she claimed at the time that it was merely a "health kick" for the summer.
He added: "She suddenly started working out twice a day and was very figure conscious. She said she was on a health kick for the summer but she was clearly getting in shape for the show."
Jay has also slammed the makers of ‘Love Island’ for "wrecking real relationships."
He said: "For them it’s just a game, a bit of fun."
