‘Love Island’ star Connor Durman was left "stressed" about his romance with Sophie Piper after she was whisked off for a date with Connagh Howard.
The 25-year-old coffee bean salesman has been coupled up with Sophie since the ITV2 reality show began its first winter series on Sunday (12.01.20), and although they seemed to be getting along, their relationship was tested on Thursday (16.01.20) when two new hunks entered the villa.
Connagh, 27, chose to take the 21-year-old personal assistant on a date to get to know her better, which left Connor feeling the pressure to hold on to his partner, especially after he lashed out at her on Wednesday (15.01.20) for getting excited about the prospect of new boys.
Waiting for Sophie to return from her date, Connor said: "I’m a little bit [stressed]. Only because, it’ll just be interesting to see what they’re like. I did come across a bit childish."
But the hunk admits that if Sophie does prefer the 27-year-old model over him, he won’t hold her back.
He insisted: "Obviously I want Sophie to be happy, but we had a good thing going. I’m excited to see her and see what she’s saying. It’s just hard isn’t it? But if she’s more happy with someone else then I’d rather her be happy with someone better suited."
Whilst on her date, Sophie said she was "happy" with Connor, but could see herself getting closer to other people in the future, as it is still early days.
She told Connagh: "I feel like I am happy with Connor. But obviously we’re only a couple of days in so it would be silly to close myself off completely, so we’ll have to see how the next couple of days go."
Meanwhile, second newcomer Finley Tapp chose to take Siânnise Fudge out on a date, and the 25-year-old beauty consultant – who is currently coupled up with Nas Majeed, but only sees him as a friend – admitted she felt a "spark" on her date.
She said: "I was happy getting to know him, he was really sweet. I feel like there was a little bit of a spark there. He did have something about him and I did think he was really good looking – so who knows?"
‘Love Island’ airs every night at 9pm.
