Axed ‘Love Island’ stars Charlie Frederick and Hayley Hughes insisted on being interviewed separately on ‘Lorraine’ because of their "frosty" relationship.
The pair both appeared on Lorraine Kelly’s talk show earlier today (18.06.18) but the TV presenter revealed the reality stars didn’t want to sit alongside one another on the sofa – as they did on last night’s (17.06.18) ‘Love Island: Aftersun’ – which made for an "awkward" situation.
Teasing the interviews, Lorraine said: "They’re both here this morning, but they don’t want to be on the sofa together. Awkward.
"We’re going to talk to Charlie first and Hayley will wait backstage."
Charlie later admitted he and Hayley are "frosty" since they exited the villa last week, and he is disappointed not to still be on the ITV2 show.
He said: "We’re fine, but it’s frosty. I’m a bit annoyed to be honest. I’m bitter and angry but not to her. I’m gutted not to still be in there."
Charlie admitted it would be a "dream" if ‘Love Island’ bosses put him back into the villa, and Lorraine is keen for the 23-year-old model to get a second chance on the show.
She said: "Let’s start the campaign!"
But Hayley has admitted the time was right for her to exit the show.
During her chat with Lorraine, she said: "I feel at the end I was ready to go out.
"Maybe near the end I was a bit cold and I think that is something I need to work on.
"But if I’m not interested in someone or I can’t see it going any further I pull away."
The 21-year-old model made a name for herself on ‘Love Island’ when she questioned what Brexit was, and insists many people her age are in the same situation.
She said: "I don’t really understand … I don’t think many 21 year olds really know about Brexit but because I’ve been the one to open my mouth and not just sit back it’s been me that’s been judged."
