Love Island bosses leave door open for Caroline Flack comeback

‘Love Island’ bosses say the "door is open" for Caroline Flack to return.
The 40-year-old presenter stepped down from her role fronting the ITV2 dating show – which she’d held since its launch in 2015 – following an assault charge, and now producers have confirmed there is a chance she could make a comeback in the future.
Commissioning editor Amanda Stavri told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "We are continuing to talk to Caroline.
"We are in constant contact and the door is open."
The TV star – who will go on trial in March after she pleaded not guilty to the charge of assault by beating, related to an alleged incident with her boyfriend Lewis Burton – previously said she would be glad to share her "side of the story".
She wrote on her Instagram Stories: "Thankfully I know a lot of you will not believe all that you have heard and read following today’s court hearing … thank you for your continued support and love….
"It’s going to be a relief when I am able to give my side of the story, when I’m allowed to x. (sic)"
Last month, the court heard the prosecution allege that Caroline hit Lewis "in the head with a lamp", but following the hearing he took to Instagram to insist she did not strike him with the object.
She has been replaced for the new winter series of ‘Love Island’ by Laura Whitmore.
Caroline recently said: "I’m glad it’s Laura .. she loves the show as much as I do … again.. thank you for you continuous messages of support .. it’s a really rough time … but I’m doing all can to keep my head above the water and sort this all out … (sic)"
