Love Actually finally gets its sequel

‘Love Actually’ finally got its hotly-anticipated sequel on Friday evening (24.03.17).
The cast of the iconic Richard Curtis film – which was released in 2003 – reunited to raise money for Comic Relief as fans got a chance to see how things had turned out for their favourite characters.
The short film – which lasted around 12 minutes – started with Juliet, played by Keira Knightley, snuggling down on the sofa to watch television with her husband Peter (Chiwetel Ejiofor). However, the pair are soon interrupted by an unlikely visitor on the doorstep – Mark (Andrew Lincoln).
Through a series of cue cards, Mark and Juliet catch up before he reveals that he stuck to his promise that he would marry a supermodel and has tied the knot with none other than Kate Moss.
And for Hugh Grant’s character David, he was back in office, having been re-elected as Prime Minister.
Dancing along to Drake’s Hotline Bling, David falls down the stairs and breaks his arm but is soon smiling again with his wife Natalie (Martine McCutcheon) by his side.
However, there was more good news for Jamie (Colin Firth) as his partner – with whom he already has three children – revealed she was expecting his fourth.
And Bill Nighy made his return, being interviewed on the radio as his character, rocker Billy Mack.
Elsewhere, Daniel (Liam Neeson) was reunited with his son Sam (Thomas Brodie-Sangster), who is 26 now, and Sam has reignited his romance with his first love, who has asked for his hand in marriage.
Meanwhile, David made a poignant speech to end the short sequel, where he insisted good would always win.
He said: "Well, interesting obviously times have got harder and people are nervous and fearful. And it’s not just in politics that things are tough, Usain Bolt has run his last Olympics, the Harry Potter films are finished, Piers Morgan is still alive. But let’s look at the other side of the coin, Metallica’s album is an absolute cracker and on a deeper level I’m optimistic wherever you see tragedy, you see bravery too. Wherever you see ordinary people in need, you see extraordinary people come to their aid.
"Today is Red Nose Day and people who are giving their hard earned cash to people they’ll never meet, who’s pain and fear they’ll never feel and want to fight. So it’s not romantic love that is all around, most people still every day, everywhere have enough love in their hearts to help human beings in trouble. Good’s going to win, I’m actually sure of it."
