Louisa Johnson says people will be "surprised" by her debut album.
The ‘X Factor’ winner – who won the hearts of the nation with her angelic vocals on the TV talent show in 2015 – has many different musical influences, from her idol R&B superstar Beyoncé to Caribbean music, and that will be reflected on her record.
She told the latest issue of Wonderland magazine:: "It’s not one kind of genre. I love Caribbean-vibe music. Beyonce, old school R&B and everything from the 90s. I think people will be surprised when they hear it!"
Louisa has also admitted she found it "difficult" going into the studio for the first time, but says the results are very "honest" and "real".
She said: "It’s been quite difficult to go straight from the show to the studio, but I just want to share my music. For me, my music is like a diary: it’s very real and honest, and I like to be open."
Louisa, who was mentored by Rita Ora on the ITV talent show, says the 25-year-old beauty "inspired" her massively and taught her to be herself and stay "strong mentally".
She said: "I think Rita inspired me the most, because
she’s young too and we had so many ideas together. She helped me a lot. She always told me to be myself, to remain strong mentally. I think it’s the most important advice anyone can give you."
Louisa also had a lot of praise for Syco boss, Simon Cowell, 56.
She said: "I really admire Simon. It’s definitely scary, the fame that comes with X-Factor, but I’m doing
everything I’ve always dreamed about and him and Rita have helped
me so much. Simon is so supportive and it’s really great."
