Louis Walsh would opt for "assisted suicide".
The 64-year-old music manager has admitted he’d ask for help to kill himself if he had an incurable disease – to avoid going to a nursing home.
In a recent interview Louis was probed on whether he’d follow in the footsteps of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan – who revealed in 2014 that they’ve made plans to take the drastic measure if either of them fall seriously ill – and said: "Yes, I would. I’ve thought about that.
"I don’t want to hang around in a wheelchair in a nursing home. I don’t. I don’t want to be like that."
And the 64-year-old X Factor star – who returned to the show after being dramatically dropped and replaced with Nick Grimshaw last year – is determined to have fun whilst he still can.
He added to Digital Spy: "I have thought about it recently. I would take some pills and fly off. That’s why we have to enjoy ourselves while we are here."
Meanwhile, Louis kept a close eye on ‘The X Factor’ during his year off and said he was "smug" when it went downhill and felt it turned into a show that wasn’t "family entertainment" anymore.
He said recently: "I was smug the first night I sat down to watch the show last year.
"It didn’t work. I had a talk with Simon every week and he said: ‘I want you back.’ He’d have had me back in the middle of the series, if he’d had his way … They were trying to make it younger. It was almost like a Channel 4 show. It was not the show I was on, not family entertainment.
"Simon tried a few things and it didn’t really work and he knew that, he has a gut feeling."
The X Factor returns tonight (27.08.16), ITV, at 8pm.
