Louis Walsh: I’m in a really good place

Louis Walsh is in a "really good place" since joining ‘Ireland’s Got Talent’.
The Irish TV star still watches ‘The X Factor’ – which he had been a judge on on-and-off since 2004 – but admits he’s too busy enjoying his new talent show to miss the ITV programme.
Praising contestant Brendan Murray and new judge, Robbie Williams, he said: "I’ve been keeping an eye on Brendan the Irish guy … Robbie (Williams) is doing great too.
"I am in a really good place as I am back to my old job."
The 66-year-old music manager is still great friends with ‘X Factor’ boss Simon Cowell, and though he had a "great" time on the panel – which also previously featured Sharon Osbourne – he admits he’s loving being back in his home country.
He added to the Daily Star Online: "I had a great time on the show but I’m now doing ‘Ireland’s Got Talent’.
"I am in Dublin, Westlife are back … It’s good."
Meanwhile, Simon recently admitted he misses Louis.
The 59-year-old music mogul – who judges the show alongside Robbie, Ayda Field and Louis Tomlinson – feels different being without the long-running judge, but joked he could always make a return as a contestant.
He said: "Yes I am [missing Louis]. But you know, he still does ‘Ireland’s Got Talent’ and he can come back … as a contestant.
"We have the Overs category so we would have to have the older and older category. For the over 80s."
Although Louis announced he was quitting after 13 years before the current ‘X Factor’ series, he recently praised the singing competition and thinks it’s a step above rival reality shows.
He previously said: "I have nothing negative to say about ‘X Factor’, it’s the best show in the world. ‘Strictly’? That’s for older people, I watch ‘X Factor.’ "
Revealing he was bowing out of the show after more than a decade, he explained: "I’ve had a fantastic 13 years on ‘The X Factor’ but the show needs a change and I’m ready to leave."
