Louis Tomlinson felt enormous pressure when releasing his first solo single.
The One Direction singer collaborated with DJ Steve Aoki on the single ‘Just Hold On’, the first song he has released without his bandmates, and admitted that he was worried about how fans would react.
Speaking on ‘Most Requested Live with Romeo’, he said: "There’s pressure for any artist when they release new music and the idea is the song is for the fans to a certain degree and it’s for them to enjoy it.
"I think there’s also a sense of relief because you’re going through a process of choosing between different songs and once you’ve picked it, it feels good.
"But definitely you feel the pressure and that’s why the support that we’ve had throughout this single has just been absolutely incredible. I mean we’ve been blown away."
Louis also admitted he has been incredibly nervous before his performances of ‘Just Hold On’.,
He said: "Of course I get nervous. Yeah absolutely. In so many ways it feels like I’m kind of going through the process and starting again. I’ve been really nervous about these performances."
Louis also praised his 1D bandmates – Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Harry Styles – for supporting him at ‘The X Factor’, the first time he performed ‘Just Hold On’.
He said: "When I was on ‘The X Factor’, it was really nice all the boys came to support me and I think that’s what it’s all about. People love to write what they want to write but there’s no bitterness."
