Louis Tomlinson says Simon Cowell was "completely understanding" of One Direction’s choice to go on hiatus.
The ‘Night Changes’ hitmaker has praised the 56-year-old music mogul for not putting any pressure on the chart-topping boy band – which also includes Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Niall Horan – when they told him they wanted to take a break.
He said: "Simon was completely understanding when we told him we wanted to go on a break. Not once did he put any pressure on us. Most people would’ve tried to give us at least a nudge. But he didn’t. That’s a real reflection of his character. Once you get to know him, he’s lovely and kind."
The 24-year-old singer also revealed Simon was one of the first people he told when he found out he was expecting a child, Freddie, now two months, with stylist Briana Jungwirth.
He added to Billboard magazine: "Simon is one of the first people I told about my son, Freddie. You can trust him."
Meanwhile, Louis previously revealed he wants more children in the future.
Speaking about fatherhood, he gushed: "It’s great, I’m enjoying it a lot and I’d definitely like more kids but not just yet."
