Lorraine Kelly thinks Britain’s Duchess Catherine looks better when she ditches designer clothes for high street.
The 56-year-old presenter prefers it when the duchess – who was known as Kate Middleton until she married Prince William in 2011 – wears affordable outfits when she’s on tour.
She said: "Kate often tours wearing all this thousand-pound this, thousand-pound that stuff – and then she wore a wee dress from Topshop for £75 and looked phenomenal."
But the brunette beauty understands how much pressure Catherine – who has two children Prince George, two, and Princess Charlotte, 12 months – is under as her ensembles are constantly under scrutiny by people from all walks of life.
She explained: "She looked really good. When someone like that wears high street, it’s great. But it’s difficult for her because if she wears high street, all the stuck-up courtiers will say, ‘Look at that, she’s not being dignified enough’ and then if she wears designer clothes, ‘Look at that, spending a fortune on clothes’. The poor kid can’t win. But I think she looks much more comfortable in high street."
