Liz and Jim McDonald reunite for Beverly Callard’s 60th birthday

‘Coronation Street’s Beverley Callard was reunited with her on-screen husband Charles Lawson on ‘Loose Women’ on Friday (31.03.17) for her 60th birthday.
The 60-year-old actress – who portrays Rovers Return landlady Liz McDonald in the ITV soap – thought she was appearing on the lunchtime chat show to discuss her birthday when the 57-year-old actor, who played criminal Jim McDonald, came bounding out from behind the scenes with a delicious cake in his hands.
Before he came on, they recorded a message of him wishing her a happy birthday.
He said: "Happy Birthday Elizabeth, you’ll always be my number on girl."
After panellist Andrea McLean introduced Charles onto the show, the blonde beauty nearly burst into tears of joy as she hadn’t seen him for a while.
She said: "He’s here? Oh my god! I’m going to cry now!"
Jim hasn’t been on the show since November 2014.
Beverley – who has played the role of Liz in the long-running soap on-and-off since 1989 – admitted that it was a "shock" to turn 60 and when she got up out of bed she felt emotional.
She said: "I loved turning 40 and then 50 but I forgot I was going to be 60 and it was a shock.
"When I woke up on my birthday it was a weird feeling, I was really emotional, I kept crying all day – it’s that feeling of knowing you’re more than half way, I’m not going to live to be 120."
However, her age didn’t stop Beverley hitting Manchester town for a wild night out with her non "showbiz" pals and joked that her mother-in-law – who is her 80s – was on the Jägerbombs
She said:"The girls who come to my fitness class organised this party in this gay bar in Manchester and had a drag queen sing to us, it was amazing, no showbiz, no press, just a great night out with friends.
"My 84-year-old mother-in-law Crystal outlasted everyone, she was on the Jägerbombs."
