Little Mix steal the show at Summertime Ball

Little Mix stole the show at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball with Vodafone on Saturday evening (11.06.16).
The ‘Move’ hitmakers – which includes Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson – put on a fantastic performance for the 80,000 fans gathered at Wembley Stadium after Perrie’s ex-fiance Zayn Malik pulled out of the show, citing "anxiety".
Little Mix opened with their hit track ‘Black Magic’ before performing a stripped back introduction to ‘Move’. The highlight of their set was their high energy performance of new single ‘Hair’.
Meanwhile, Years & Years frontman Olly Alexander had the "highlight of his life" backstage during the show when he got a chance to meet Little Mix.
He told the crowd: "I met Little Mix backstage and it was the highlight of my life."
The pop trio wowed the audience with performances of their tracks including ‘Desire’, ‘King’ and fan favourite ‘Eyes Shut’.
The Vamps – which includes Brad Simpson, James McVey, Tristan Evans and Connor Ball – got the crowd buzzing with a set featuring ‘Can We Dance’, ‘Somebody To You’ and their new single ‘I Found A Girl’.
John Newman made an unexpected appearance on stage to perform his single ‘Give Me Your Love’ with Sigala whilst Dizzie Rascal also surprised fans with crowd favourite ‘Bonkers’.
Flo Rida soaked the crowd with champagne as he wished Britain’s Queen Elizabeth a happy 90th birthday and segued into ‘Wild Ones’.
Former One Direction singer Zayn, 23, later released a statement explaining that his crippling anxiety had kept him from his first solo performance in the UK.
He wrote on Instagram: "To all those people who have been waiting to see me perform at the Capital Summertime Ball today..
"I flew into the UK last night to appear in my home country in front of my family, friends, and most importantly my UK fans.
"Unfortunately my anxiety that has haunted me throughout the last few months around live performances has gotten the better of me… with the magnitude of the event I have suffered the worst anxiety of my career. I cannot apologise enough but I want to be honest with everyone who has patiently waited to see me, I promise I will do my best to make this up to everybody I’ve let down today
"I know those who suffer anxiety will understand and I hope those who don’t can empathises with my situation (sic)."
