Little Ant and Dec have quit ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’.
The miniature version of the presenting duo have decided to leave the popular variety show as Little Ant (Neil Overend) is moving to secondary school and Little Dec (Haydn Reid) needs to take on his SATs next year and feel they have now "outgrown" the roles.
ITV have told Digital Spy that there are no plans to replace the pair but they are pleased the little ones went out on a high last year due to their Walt Disney World finale.
Neil and Hadyn have held the roles for five years after they took over from James Pallister and Dylan McKenna-Redshaw, who played the parts for 10 years, in 2013.
Although the show is losing the little stars, it was confirmed this week that Scarlett Moffatt will return for the new series alongside hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly.
The former ‘Gogglebox’ star said: "Kylie Minogue is performing on the first show. It’s going to be fun! It’s like a big family at ITV, with Ant and Dec and Stephen Mulhern, hair and make-up – everyone. Every week I learn something new. Anything can happen on live TV so you just take it as it comes. It’s like university for TV!"
Fans were concerned that there wouldn’t be another series of ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ after Ant was admitted to rehab last year for prescription pills addiction.
He spent two months in rehab over the summer after he agreed to seek help after being rushed to hospital at 5am following an "insane" binge of painkillers tramadol and morphine, along with alcohol, while recovering from knee surgery in June.
He said after his treatment: "I was at the point where anything — prescription drugs, non-prescription drugs — I would take. And take them with alcohol, which is ridiculous. The doctors told me, ‘You could have killed yourself’. "
As well as the painkillers, the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ star was prescribed sleeping pills to help him through the nights following surgery this year, but was also drinking heavily.
