The ‘Line of Duty’ cast is set to shoot series four in the summer.
The third installment of the award-winning BBC2 police drama came to an explosive end last night (28.04.16) but fans won’t have to wait too long for the next chapter as it has been confirmed the next batch of episodes will begin filming in August, with the view that they’ll hit screens next February.
Film company World Productions announced the good news on its official Twitter account shortly after the third series wrapped up last night, writing: "Series 4 commissioned, ready to film from the end of August (sic)"
However, creator Jed Mercurio has admitted he’s yet to start penning the script for the next installment, which stars Martin Compston and Keeley Hawes, but isn’t stressing too much as he never had a "grand plan" for series three either.
He explained to the Express.co.uk: "We’ve got a fourth season and we’re just at the very start of the process of what the story will be in season four and how it will unfold.
"In terms of season three there was no grand plan. It was only as we were working through it that we started to decide what kind of story might unfold."
