Lily Allen is feeling "blessed" after her family narrowly avoided being caught in an earthquake.
The 31-year-old singer revealed her husband Sam Cooper and daughters Ethel, four, and Marnie, three, are "all OK" after the 6.2 magnitude natural disaster struck in Umbria, Italy, where they have been holidaying, killing at least 73 people today (24.08.16).
Lily was not in the country at the time because she had to leave the vacation early to attend a funeral.
When asked by a concerned fan if she was OK, she wrote on Twitter: "Yes my family are all in Umbria, but they are fine. Thank you for your concern.
"Had to leave my family holiday in Umbria early to come home for a funeral. Such sad scenes but feeling blessed that my lot are all ok x (sic)"
The quake hit the towns of Amatrice and Accumoli worst and around 150 people are still thought to be trapped under rubble.
Lily has been keeping her Twitter followers informed about her vacation, but joked last week it wasn’t "really a holiday" because she had to look after her kids.
She wrote: "When you have children, you forget to do things like wax your legs and have pedicures before you go on holiday.
"Actually when you have children and you travel with them, it’s not really a holiday.
"Grandma and feral cousins arrive today though, there is hope (sic)".
The singer has also been inspired to start writing a book while abroad after reading American writer-and-director Nora Ephron’s collection of self-help essays ‘I Feel Bad About My Neck: And Other Thoughts on Being a Woman’.
She tweeted: "I read Nora Ephrons ‘I feel bad about my neck’ today. It inspired me to start writing a book, I’ve been writing solidly for 3hrs #eurekamoment (sic)"
