Liam Gallagher to be reunited with Oasis’ Andy Bell at Benicassim

Liam Gallagher is to be reunited with his former Oasis bandmate Andy Bell at the Benicassim festival.
The 44-year-old singer is releasing his first ever solo album in the coming months and he has added another European festival date to his diary at the annual music extravaganza which takes place in the Spanish town from July 13 to July 16.
The event will be headlined by Kasabian – fronted by Liam’s close friend Tom Meighan – Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Weeknd.
Also on the bill are indie shoegazing band Ride comprised of Mark Gardener, Laurence ‘Loz’ Colbert, Steve Queralt and Andy.
Andy, 46, joined Oasis as the bass player in 2000 along with guitarist Gem Archer following the departure of original members Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs and Paul ‘Guigsy’ McGuigan and remained in the band until Noel Gallagher quit in August 2009 following a huge backstage bust-up with his brother Liam.
Liam, Andy and Gem, 50, formed new group Beady Eye with drummer Chris Sharrock in the wake of the ‘Supersonic’ rockers’ demise but after releasing two albums, ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding’ and ‘BE’, they disbanded in October 2014 prompting Andy to reform Ride – who are releasing a new LP this summer.
Discussing the Beady Eye break-up, Andy said: "It just sort of ran its course really. Liam had been pretty quiet for a while, and them he just let us know that his heart wasn’t really in it any more. It was a long fade, really."
Foals, Slaves, Blossoms and Tyler, the Creator have all also been confirmed to be playing Internacional de Benicassim.
Liam’s latest confirmed festival appearance follows him being announced for Lollapalooza in Paris, Bergenfest in Norway and as a headliner for Exit Festival in Serbia.
