Liam Gallagher slams Alex Turner’s American accent

Liam Gallagher has slammed rival Alex Turner’s American drawl.
The 44-year-old rocker has a problem with people like the Arctic Monkeys frontman, who is originally from Sheffield in North England, but after moving across to Los Angeles speaks with an American/English accent.
The former Oasis frontman joked that the 31-year-old singer – whose biggest influence growing up was Oasis’ seminal 1995 LP ‘What’s The Story? (Morning Glory)’ – wouldn’t come home to his parents and calls his mother "mom", and mocked the ‘R U Mine?’ hitmaker’s Elvis quiff and style.
When asked about singing in his accent by BBC Radio 1 presenter Greg James, Liam replied: "Yeah, the singing’s alright for me, you know what I mean?
"It’s when they do an interview and that later on down the line and they’ve been to America once and they come back and they start speaking American, you know what I mean?
"Like the geezer out of the Arctic Monkeys. He did it didn’t he? He started getting his hair in a quiff and biker leather jackets on, you know what I mean?
"It’s like when he goes back to his mam’s does he really walk in with that biker leather jacket on and go (puts on American accent): ‘Hey mom, can I have some tea?’
"She’s going to give him a clip isn’t she?"
Meanwhile, Liam’s brother and now bitter rival, Noel Gallagher, 50, previously slammed the band.
In 2015, the ‘Some Might Say’ songwriter said he’d "rather drink petrol from the nozzle" than listen to Arctic Monkeys’ songs.
However, in a later interview he said he was talking about their music and not Alex’s "persona", but still said his interviews are "lacklustre".
He said previously: "What is there to be offended about?
"I never say anything about their persona. I don’t diss anybody’s character. Alex Turner wouldn’t be offended by that, why should he be?
"I guess he could be by the headlines, because they’re like ‘Noel Calls Queen A ****’, but I was just talking about rock star interviews in general. Alex is a f***ing top dude in a f***ing top band, and a very attractive man. His interviews, on the other hand, are lacklustre."
