Liam Gallagher dedicates Live Forever to Prince

Liam Gallagher dedicated ‘Live Forever’ to Prince at his concert in Minneapolis on Monday night (20.11.17).
The 45-year-old rocker was performing in the ‘Raspberry Beret’ hitmaker’s home city at the First Avenue venue and at the end of his set he took the opportunity to remember the late pop legend before he played his former band Oasis’ 1994 hit.
Speaking to the crowd, he said: "I reckon you want ‘Live Forever’, yeah? This one’s for Prince, this is his gaff (home) and that so might as well dedicate to him, yeah."
Ahead of the sold-out show, Liam had revealed he was very excited to be in the hometown of Prince – who tragically died in April 2016 at the age of 57.
Taking to his Twitter account, he posted: "Minneapolis home of prince looking forward to the gig as you were."
When asked by one of his 2.56 million followers what his favourite Prince song was, he replied: "Purple Rain."
Before taking to the stage, Liam played Prince’s ‘Sign o’ the Times’ to the crowd to set the tone for the night.
His set was filled with Oasis classics such as ‘Morning Glory’, ‘Some Might Say’ and ‘Slide Away’ and tracks from his hit debut solo LP ‘As You Were’, including ‘Greedy Soul’, ‘I’ve All I Need’ and ‘For What It’s Worth’.
Although they have been feuding since Oasis ended in 2009, it seems Liam and his estranged brother Noel Gallagher share a mutual appreciation for Prince.
Noel, 50, dedicated the same song, ‘Live Forever’, to Prince when he performed at Glasgow’s Hydro arena on April 21, 2016, just hours after Prince had died.
Telling the audience that Prince had inspired Oasis’ 2000 album ‘Standing on the Shoulder of Giants’, he said: "So, I was in a band once. We had an album called ‘Standing on the Shoulders of Giants’ and one of those giants was Prince. So, you’re going to help me pay tribute to the great man and help me do ‘Live Forever’."
