Liam Gallagher is fuming that the premiere for the Oasis documentary ‘Supersonic’ is taking place in London rather than Manchester – and has blamed his brother Noel Gallagher for refusing to travel back to their hometown.
The 43-year-old rocker is disgusted that the decision has been made to open the film in the UK capital against his wishes and claims it is the fault of his older sibling and former bandmate, who he has branded a "porcelain knob".
Taking to his Twitter account, Liam posted a series of angry messages which read: "So check this out apparently some clown trying to tell me this film about my fucking band yeah MY band is not premiering in MCR iFTOTB … Your so called mighty 1 only up for London premier as you were you porcelain knob … Ignition management COWBOYS steer clear up there with IBERIA airlines LG x (sic)"
The ‘Live Forever’ singer has offered to hand deliver the film to 49-year-old Noel – who he has barely spoken to since the guitarist walked out of the group in August 2009 following a massive bust-up between the two family members – if it’s too much trouble for him to support the project.
He tweeted: "If I have to come and knock on your door you’ll get it popcorn and DVD. (sic)"
‘Supersonic’ has been made by James Gay-Rees of production company On The Corner, executive director Asif Kapadia and director Mat Whitecross – the team behind Amy Winehouse doc ‘Amy’ – and the film focuses on the band’s formation in 1991 and journey to their historic concerts at Knebworth Park in 1996 at which they played to 250,000 people following the huge success of their second LP ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’, which went on to sell over 20 million copies worldwide.
At the time, 2.6 million people applied for tickets for the concerts, and the band could have played 20 sold out nights at the venue.
Despite his anger of the location of the premiere, Liam has praised the film describing it as "biblical".
The rock ‘n’ roll hellraiser recently attended the Cannes Film Festival with his girlfriend Debbie Gwyther to launch the movie but Noel reportedly refused to go as he didn’t want to see his antagonistic younger brother.
