Kylie Minogue teased “let’s see” when asked about collaborating on a song with Madonna.
The Pop Princess, 55, and The Queen of Pop, 65, surprised fans when they performed Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive’ and the former’s noughties hit ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ when Madonna brought the ‘Celebration Tour’ to the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, last week.
And Kylie, who revealed the ‘Vogue’ hitmaker’s manager Guy Oseary got in touch just weeks before to ask her to duet with his client, responded to Variety at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party on Sunday (10.03.24) when they quizzed her on a potential song with Madonna: “Maybe. Who knows? Let’s see.”
However, it’s not the first time she’s been asked about recording a track with the ‘Like a Virgin’ singer.
Speaking to New York’s 1035KTU radio station, she said: “I would. Of course, I would! She’s going on tour. I don’t have Madonna’s number but if I was in town and she was in town it would be amazing. The building would probably fall down. We’d need to send our warnings!”
Madonna said of the pair’s longevity in pop music onstage: “Now, this is what we call survival.
“It’s a privilege for me to be up here singing with you… God bless you, never give up.”
They had always wanted to perform together but just never got around to it.
Kylie – who rocked a top emblazoned with Madonna’s name – shared a clip of herself in the audience on X (Twitter) and wrote: “Madonna It’s been a long time coming!!! Loved being with you!!!! Celebration Tour and it is now International Women’s Day …. Thank you and Love Love Love.”
