Lea Michele is releasing a song in tribute to her late boyfriend, Cory Monteith.
The ‘Glee’ actress sings about her co-star – who died of a drugs overdose last July – in the emotionally charged ballad ‘You’re Mine’, which is dedicated to the actor, and was a late addition to her forthcoming debut album, ‘Louder’, written in the wake of his passing.
She tweeted this morning (10.02.14): "My next IG track #YOUREMINE (available tomorrow) is my favorite song on #LOUDER. It’s so special to me & it’s story is so close to my heart. (sic)"
Lea, 27, also posted pictures with some of the lyrics to the track, which includes the lines: "I told you all my dreams and fears / and you looked at me and your eyes filled with tears.
"And you said those three words I’ve been waiting for / you became a part of me."
Lea has also said she feels her bond with Cory has helped give her strength to start her solo music career.
She told Teen Vogue magazine: "I somehow feel the insane love Cory and I had for each other morphed into this strength that I have right now.
"There’s just something about knowing he’s watching everything I’m doing and feeling like I have to do everything now not just for me but for him."
When asked about which track on ‘Louder’ would be Cory’s favourite, she replied: "He loved ‘Battlefield’. I’m getting chills thinking about it. I would say ‘Burn with You’ was his favourite. He came into the studio that day."
