Lauren Goodger is being eyed up for the next series of ‘Celebs Go Dating’.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star hasn’t had the best of luck when it comes to her love life over the years as she was left heartbroken when her on/off fiance Mark Wright dumped her and married Michelle Keegan and then, most recently, split from her jailbird boyfriend Joey Morrison after his prison sentence was extended until next year.
But the 31-year-old beauty may be about to meet her prince charming as she’s been in talks with producers of the match-making show about taking part in the new instalment.
A source told The Sun Online: "Lauren’s been for meetings at the production company that makes the show – they’re really keen to sign her up. She makes great TV, she’s really popular, and she’s been unlucky in love so far.
"Everyone would love to see Lauren get set up with someone special – she’s had such bad luck with men in the past, the dating agency could really help her out."
Lauren dumped Joey – who she was in a relationship with for 18 months – after his sentence was extended following an "incident" behind bars but, although she’s devastated by their split, she feels like she’s finally back to her old self now they’re over.
She said recently: "You lose your identity because you’re not on your own and you’re in a two. You’re not as strong anymore. Especially when you’re with someone inside.
"It wasn’t a sudden decision, it was months and months of it getting harder. Joey was meant to come out in November last year and if he had done, things would have been very different. But he suffered a knock back inside and was moved to a high security prison. His sentence was extended and I was told he could be inside for another year. That was hard because I’d been with him for a while but he’d had day release so we could walk around the grounds and sit on a bench together.
"When he was moved to high security, his day release was cut and our visits became more formal. It was really sad and we would row because of the pressure of the environment. It changed the whole relationship for me."
