Laura Norton watches shows with similar storylines to her ‘Emmerdale’ plots to "get ideas of how to play things".
The 34-year-old actress finds it "tough" to switch off after an emotional day on set, but when she does settle down to relax she likes to watch Netflix programmes with her co-star and partner Mark Jordon (Daz Spencer), especially series with plots that draw comparisons to their own work on the ITV soap.
She said: "There was a day recently where we had 15 scenes to do in the Spencer house, and they were all quite emotional.
"By the end of it, I couldn’t see straight.
"I usually go home and put on Netflix. Mark and I will watch something with a similar sort of story so we can get ideas of how to play things."
Laura’s character Kerry Wyatt was previously set to marry Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) in ‘Emmerdale’ only for mystery man Kev (Christopher Connel) to turn up on their big day and reveal he married the salon worker in Las Vegas, resulting in her being arrested for bigamy.
But the star is now keen for her alter-ego to tie the knot in a "subdued" ceremony, and hinted that could be the case as long as missing Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) is found safe and sound.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: "Obviously the big, fat gypsy wedding we had was amazing.
"But Kerry and Dan have been through so much that I’d love to see them have a wedding that’s different – subdued and intimate.
"So hopefully if they come through this Amelia situation in a positive way, that could be next."
