Laura Anderson thinks some ‘Love Island’ contestants didn’t enter the show for the right reasons.
The 29-year-old reality star finished third alongside Paul Knops in the latest series of the ITV2 dating show, and she believes one of the reasons so many of the pairings have split up following the series is because certain contestants weren’t looking for love on the programme.
In an exclusive interview with BANG Showbiz at the KISS Haunted House Party at Wembley Arena, she said: "Some people don’t go on the show for love, possibly. There’s a lot of pressure when you come out because if you think about it, how many people do you date within a few years?
"You meet people you don’t last that long. I think in there it’s like everyone knows you’re together.
"Even me and Paul, we weren’t technically in a ‘relationship relationship’, but it just seems like a bigger thing even though it wasn’t that long a period of time.
"I don’t know, it’s a shame isn’t it? I think everyone tried though."
While Laura is no longer dating 31-year-old Paul, the pair are still civil, but they no longer stay in contact because they both wanted a "clean break".
Laura said: "We don’t really talk just like be civil really I think it’s better to have a clean break and then just be happy for each other."
While Laura isn’t romantically involved with Paul anymore – she has been spotted with fellow former ‘Love Island’ star Max Morley, and confirmed their romance last week by sharing a video on Instagram of the pair kissing in the back of a taxi.
