Lady Gaga invites fans to appear in A Star is Born

Lady Gaga has invited fans to be extras in ‘A Star is Born’.
The 31-year-old singer is set to swap the stage for the big screen when she appears in Warner Bros. Pictures’ latest remake of the story opposite Bradley Cooper.
Ahead of filming, she has invited her fans – known as her ‘Little Monsters’ – to be part of the shooting experience via her Twitter account.
On Thursday (27.04.17) she tweeted an invite to her 66 million followers which read: "Be a part of A Star Is Born with Bradley and me in LA!"
Her message was followed by a film camera emoji and a link to details of the filming event to be held at The Greek Theatre on May 2 and May 3.
According to a posting on the website, tickets cost $12 a day to be a member of the audience for a scene of the film which portrays a country western music concert with Gaga singing.
The call states: "All you Monsters that can attend should get decked out in your most comfortable denim & boots, throw on a Stetson (leave those pink Joanne hats at home) and come out to show your support."
Funds raised from the unique filming opportunity will be donated to Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation.
Extras must be aged over 18 and mobile phones or cameras are not permitted during filming.
The Cooper-directed movie is the fourth production of ‘A Star is Born’, which saw Janet Gaynor and Fredric March star in the 1937 original.
Judy Garland and James Mason appeared in another version in 1954, while the most recent movie, released in 1976, saw Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson in the lead roles.
Cooper’s interpretation – based on a script by ‘Forrest Gump’ writer Eric Roth – is set to give a new look at the story of a singer who sees her fame rise as quickly as her troubled lover-and-mentor’s star falls.
Also confirmed to be starring in the movie are Sam Elliott, Ray Liotta and Andrew Dice Clay.
For Gaga, the role comes off the back of her huge success in TV thriller ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’, for which she picked up a Golden Globe for best actress in a mini-series.
‘A Star Is Born’ has a planned September 2018 release date.
