Lacey Turner has named her baby Dusty.
The ‘EastEnders’ actress previously suffered two miscarriages, so she is particularly grateful for her and husband Matt Kay’s "miracle" arrival after giving birth to daughter Dusty Violet Kay.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Lacey said: "It wasn’t on our original list but we did an internet search for ‘pretty girls’ names’ and we both said it at the same time.
"Dusty’s our little miracle – we call her special K.
"You hear so many horror stories about labour but I feel lucky to be able to say I had a really lovely time."
The 31-year-old actress’ first miscarriage happened after her and Matt’s wedding in Ibiza in 2017, and the second in April 2018.
Lacey – who plays Stacey Fowler in the BBC One soap – and Matt underwent tests to determine medical issues.
He said: "I think everything happens for a reason and it does make Dusty being here more special – we’re so lucky to have her in our lives."
The actress went into labour on July 12th, five days before her actual due date, and the couple didn’t know they were having a baby girl.
Matt said: "When she first came out they handed me the baby and asked me to reveal the gender.
"For a second, I thought it was a boy, as I saw the umbilical cord. I thought, go on son. I then cut the umbilical cord, which was surreal."
After her two miscarriages, Lacey had 12 scans while pregnant with Dusty to ensuring everything was progressing well.
She said: "We did have more, as I found it reassuring after losing two babies, but once I felt her kicking I didn’t panic as much and didn’t go as much."
