Lacey Turner has got married.
The ‘EastEnders’ star – who is known for portraying Stacey Fowler in the soap – tied the knot with her childhood sweetheart Matt Kay in front of 120 guests – including some of her cast mates – on September 2 in a secret hideaway in the north of Ibiza, Spain.
Speaking to OK! magazine, the 29-year-old actress said: "I always knew I didn’t want to get married in the UK. I never wanted a winter wedding as I don’t love the cold, and I always thought I’d wear no shoes and you can’t really do that in England! I love it here…
"… We were set on getting married on a beach and we’d been to about four places. Then we decided to come and have a look at this villa. I took my shoes off, walked around and thought, perfect – I don’t have to wear my shoes here!"
The brunette beauty invited her co-stars James Bye, Jake Wood, Aaron Sidwell, Laurie Brett, Scott Maslen and former ‘EastEnders’ star Dame Barbara Windsor to the wedding because they’ve grown up on-screen together.
She explained: "It was so much fun. Scott and his wife Estelle are such fun people and they’re such lovers of the island anyway – they had a great time.
"It was lovely to see Jake with his wife Alison and their kids, and James and his wife Victoria, and Aaron and his girlfriend Tricia, as well as Laurie, who came with her mum.
"They’ve watched us grow together, so it was nice they couple all make it. I was so glad Barbara could make it too."
The pair first got together when they were 15 years old and they both feel incredibly "lucky" to have met their soul mates at such a young age.
Lacey said: "I just feel really lucky. It’s really rare to spend this many years with someone and to still feel the same as it did in the beginning. We don’t know any different, I guess, but I know we definitely feel lucky."
