Kym Marsh has reunited with her boyfriend Scott Ratcliffe after seven weeks apart.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress – who plays Michelle Connor on the ITV soap – was "so excited" to see her significant other again after he returned from Kenya, where he has been undergoing an army training exercise, and admits her heart "grew fonder" for him in their absence.
She wrote: "Scott and I were reunited after seven weeks apart while he was out in Kenya on an army training exercise and it was the best!
"It’s true, absence does make the heart grow fonder. I got a train down from Manchester and he met me off the train in London.
"I was so excited to see him, I really missed him! We kept in contact by sending each other letters and little gifts – it’s little gestures and knowing you’re being thought of and missed. Scott’s very thoughtful and I’m really glad he’s home."
While Scott has been away Kym’s daughter Emilie Cunliffe announced she is expecting a baby, and last week the ‘Corrie’ actress correctly predicted her grandchild would be a boy ahead of a gender reveal party.
Writing in her OK! magazine column, she wrote: "Our family and friends gathered at mine for the gender reveal party we threw for Emilie and her boyfriend Mikey – there were 60 of us! On the morning of the party, we went for a scan to find out the sex of the baby and the nurse put the answer in an envelope so we didn’t find out.
"Then we went to get a party cannon filled with blue or pink confetti.
"I wrote in my last column that I thought it was going to be a boy – I just knew!
"Obviously I didn’t mind either way, but I love the thought of a little boy in the family given that we’re missing one. It will be lovely for us all. He’s going to be a very spoilt little boy."
Last month, Kym admitted it was "a shame" she didn’t have more scenes to shoot on the cobbles, because she wanted to be busier to take her mind off missing Scott.
She said: "I’m very quiet at work and that’s a shame as I’d rather be busy to take my mind off missing him. It’ll all be fine though as we’re in a good place – it’s just part of his life.
"He’s now away for two months with the army.
"At the time of writing, Scott’s only been gone for a couple of days, so I’m OK at the moment – ask me in a few weeks.
"I’m going to keep myself busy seeing family and friends."
