Kym Marsh relishes intense Corrie scenes

Michelle Connor will be left fighting for her life on her wedding day this week – and Kym Marsh relishes the intense scenes.
‘Coronation Street’ will air post-watershed at 9pm this week as Pat Phelan’s reign of terror comes to a conclusion with the villain losing either his life or liberty by the end of the week, and Michelle will get caught in the crossfire.
Opening up on the scenes set to air on Friday, Kym, 41, told BANG Showbiz: "It’s great to be involved with something like that. It’s such a big week, and obviously you wouldn’t expect that Robert and Michelle would be involved with Pat Phelan’s exit.
"We’ve not really crossed paths, we don’t have any axe to grind with him, we wouldn’t really be on his radar. Obviously to find out we are going to be a massive part of it, and end up being caught in the middle of it all, it’s great for us."
Although the scenes are very intense and dramatic, Michelle’s co-star Tristan Gemmill – who plays Robert Preston on the soap – explained why he enjoys such eventful storylines.
He added: "It’s always better to have stuff going on, there’s nothing worse than being the boring couple that nothing ever happens to.
"It’s better to have stuff happen to you than not, and if that stuff happens to be major and dramatic, then all the better really. That’s how you feel as an actor."
Kym agreed, and said: "I’ve been here a long time but they keep surprising me with stuff.
"I’m aware I’ve been very lucky over the last 18 months with the stories I’ve been trusted with. It’s always nice to know that we must be doing something right."
