Kym Marsh has pulled out of ‘The One Show’ over fears she has coronavirus.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress was due to co-host the BBC programme alongside Alex Jones this evening (20.03.20), but she is now self-isolating after coming down with symptoms.
She told OK! magazine: "I’ve had to cancel some work.
"I was supposed to co-host The One Show, but it would have been very irresponsible of me to travel there even if I had been feeling well enough."
The BBC – who have enlisted comedian Chris Ramsey to take Kym’s place – confirmed the actress was following "all official advice" by choosing to stay at home.
The broadcaster said: "We were looking forward to having Kym guest present alongside Alex tonight but sadly she is displaying flu-like symptoms and in line with all official advice is self-isolating with her family."
The 43-year-old star had recently revealed she was set to appear on ‘The One Show’ as a stand-in for Matt Baker, 42, who is also now self-isolating as he is suffering from coronarvirus symptoms.
Speaking on the programme via webcam on Thursday (19.03.20), he told Alex: "It’s been… do you know what?
"To be honest with you, right, I’m not feeling as good as I normally do and I’ve wondered for a couple of days whether or not we’ve got it.
"But certainly I’m feeling pretty tired and I’ve got this dry cough and I don’t have a fever as such, but I have been going out today to try and get a bit of fresh air.
"So yeah, I am a bit anxious about whether or not I’ve got it, to be fair."
