Kym Marsh is going "sober for October" to raise money for charity.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress and her partner Scott Ratliff have both decided to quit booze this month as a fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support.
On Thursday (01.10.20), she tweeted: "Morning! So myself and my partner decided we would go sober for October for @macmillancancer
"It deffo won’t be easy hahah but here goes!!! (sic)"
On the fundraising page, Kym admitted both she and her partner know people who have been affected by the disease.
She wrote: "Anyone that knows Scott and I knows we like the odd drink or two so this won’t be the easiest of challenges for us!
"We decided to take on this challenge as cancer has touched the lives of people close to us both in the past, some with good outcomes, some not, and we feel that we would like to do something to raise money and help Macmillan to continue to make such a huge difference to so many people.
"Please give what you can and support us as we go sober for October."
Meanwhile, Kym – who has nine-year-old daughter Polly recently admitted she had found home schooling "tough" during the coronavirus lockdown.
Speaking over summer, she said: "While I miss her so much when she’s away, I do get a tiny break from home schooling. I’m finding that so tough, as I know many parents are.
"Polly struggles with learning from home as she doesn’t have the same environment and routine she has at school.
"Once Scott is back from his tour of Afghanistan next month, he can help me out."
