Kieron Richardson says Parry Glasspool is like an "annoying little brother".
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actor enjoys playing out his alter-ego Ste Hay’s relationship with Parry’s character Harry Thompson, but admits "deep down" he knows his on-screen husband-to-be is better suited to James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan).
He said: "Parry’s like an annoying little brother. I’m quite protective of Starry, but I know deep down Jarry is a more suited couple."
Parry added: "I say this all the time, but Kieron is such a pro. I learn something new every time I get to work with him. He always pulls a great performance out the bag."
Ste and Harry’s wedding looks set to come under threat from both James and a huge storm which will wreak havoc in the village, and Parry believes his alter-ego would welcome an interruption.
He said: "James has that certain something that keeps anyone coming back for more! Love is a weird thing, and once it gets into your head, you can’t think of anything but that! And in Harry’s case, that’s James Nightingale.
"I think Harry likes James’s intelligence, and the fact that he’s a bit of a bad boy at heart … Harry has a habit for bad boy types it seems!
"He kind of wants James to spoil the wedding, so he can have an excuse to not go along with it. Ideally, he wants someone else to make up his mind for him, because he doesn’t want to be blamed for ruining someone’s life."
Hollyoaks’ Storm Week will also see the return of Steph Davis as Sinead O’Connor, and Kieron admits fans will realise "how iconic" her alter-ego is when next week’s episodes are played out.
When asked which other character he would like to play, he said: "I’d normally say Darren Osbourne, but since the return of Steph Davis, I’d say Sinead.
"Following her return, the audience now get to see how iconic the character is."
