Kevin Smith reveals he’s suffered a ‘massive heart attack’

Kevin Smith almost died after suffering a "massive heart attack".
The 47-year-old director – who is, perhaps, best known for helming the movie ‘Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back’ – has tweeted a selfie from his hospital bed, which shows him covered in tubes, and he’s also claimed that cancelling his latest comedy show actually saved his life.
He wrote on the micro-blogging platform: "After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack. The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka "the Widow-Maker").
"If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight. But for now, I’m still above ground! (sic)"
Kevin performed a show in Oxnard, California, on Sunday (25.02.18), and he was scheduled to take to the stage again later in the evening.
News of Kevin’s health scare has prompted Twitter users to send him their best wishes to him over the social media platform.
Brian Lynch – who helped to write the ‘Minions’ movie – tweeted: "Oh my god. Wishing you the speediest and most painless recovery. Love you, buddy (sic)"
Film star Patricia Arquette also reacted to the news on Twitter, writing: "Scary! Glad you’re ok (sic)"
Meanwhile, Kevin previously admitted to being flattered that fans still remember some of his old movies, like the 1994 comedy film ‘Clerks’, so fondly.
Speaking last year, he explained: "It’s nice if it sticks around. I’ve been lucky enough to have like a long tale where people are still watching the old s**t, so much so that I still f***ing talk about the old s**.
"But you know, it’s still, at the same time, it’s comfortable to be able to have those conversations about like, what I did, and where I came from, and how long I’ve been doing that and stuff like that."
