Kevin Kennedy would "love" to return to ‘Coronation Street’.
The 55-year-old actor – who played the unlucky in love character Curly Watts in the ITV soap for 20 years – has made "no secret" of the fact that he’d like to reprise his role and would welcome having to do less travelling.
He said: "It would be nice, I would love to. It’s no secret I’d love to go back and do some more and if that opportunity arises then brilliant.
"The irony of it is that some of the excuses for people leaving is that they want to spend more time with their family – I’d have to go back to spend more time with mine because I’m always on the road."
And Kevin still looks back on his former soap days with pride.
He added: "I love it. It would be very churlish and a bit arrogant if you suddenly try to deny that large body of work that you’ve done. I’m very proud of it, I’m very proud of my time on ‘Coronation Street’. I’m very proud of the stories that we did with the writers and actors and I find that it’s a life calendar thing [when viewers say to you,] ‘I remember you doing that storyline because I got married or I had a baby’ and it’s very humbling actually."
Since quitting the soap, Kevin has performed on stage all over the world and is currently touring the UK with ‘The Commitments’.
Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine on Thursday (03.11.16) morning, he shared: "I’m going to be touring all over the UK so when we go up to Manchester of course I will go and have a cup of tea with my ‘Coronation Street’ cast."
