Kevin Clifton’s hair dyeing nerves

Kevin Clifton was more "nervous" about dyeing his girlfriend’s hair in lockdown than performing on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

The professional dancer admits he was so worried about getting his partner Stacey Dooley’s red hair wrong when she asked him to help her colour it whilst the country is in lockdown.

He said: "We’re still together! I was so nervous doing that. I was more nervous doing that than performing on ‘Strictly’ because I was like, ‘I can go out on Strictly the next week and sort of cover it up and do a good dance if I’ve done a bad dance, but imagine if I get Stacey Dooley’s iconic red hair wrong!’"

And the 37-year-old dancer – who announced he had quit the show earlier this year – is really looking forward to watching the programme, whatever format it has to take.

Speaking to Access All Areas on FUBAR Radio, he said: "I hope it does still go ahead! They’re an amazingly creative team and so I’m sure they’ll come up with some great ideas. So I’m sort of looking forward to seeing how they go about it, what the creative team are going to come up with … Who knows how they’re going to go about it. I don’t know whether there’s going to be an audience or not, I don’t know how they go about the social distancing rules … I’m really looking forward to it. Like I said when I was leaving, I’ve always been a fan of the show and I was a fan before I joined, so I’m sort of looking forward to watching it from the outside again and knowing a bit more about it and just enjoying it from that perspective."
