Kevin Clifton is jealous of Stacey Dooley for getting back to work.
The 37-year-old professional dancer – who has been dating his former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ partner since 2018 – has been bored at home since the coronavirus lockdown began in March, while his 33-year-old girlfriend has been busy working on a new documentary about the health crisis from her home.
Speaking on ‘The Kevin Clifton Podcast’, he admitted: "This last month, I’ve started to get an itching to get back to work, and my girlfriend is working again. So I’m getting jealous of that. I’m starting to get really fed up now.
"It’s been an excuse to sit and play my ÂPlayStation and just watch Netflix but now I wish I could be performing. I think this is the least fit I’ve ever been right now."
Kevin – who quit the BBC Latin and ballroom competition earlier this year – was due to start a new project taking the lead in ‘Strictly Ballroom: The Musical’ this year, but the show has been postponed due to the virus.
Meanwhile, Stacey has been able to continue working as she films an upcoming documentary on the pandemic, and has been shooting ‘EastEnders’ behind the scenes spin-off series ‘Secrets from the Street’ to replace regular episodes.
However, her partner has still been keeping himself busy during the lockdown as he has been taking a creative writing course in hopes of writing his own TV drama.
Kevin added: "I’ve actually been spending a lot of time doing some writing. Who knows, potentially that could end up being maybe a biography of sorts or just a book about my experiences in my career."
He previously teased: "There’s a TV drama that I’m looking to write. I’ve just met a brilliant writer who’s going to help me structure it and go forward with that."
