Kevin Clifton has swapped clubbing for cups of tea since meeting Stacey Dooley.
The couple made it official earlier this year after winning ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2018, and now the 37-year-old pro has admitted he has ditched his partying days in favour of quiet nights in front of the TV.
He told The Sun newspaper: "I used to be like, ‘When I’m in a bar I need to be the coolest one that can drink more than anyone else and I need the girls to fancy me.’
"I thought I needed it all to exist, when actually I didn’t need any of it to exist. I realised, ‘Do I really want to be in a bar until 4am trying to get someone’s approval?’
"Or would I rather [be] at home watching ‘Match of the Day’ with a cup of tea? You don’t have to be the cool party guy, getting everyone’s attention."
Stacey, 32, previously described her romance with Kevin as "amazing", insisting she is "happy" and feels "very lucky" to have him.
She said: "Kev and I have agreed not to go into too much detail about our private lives because you can’t really indulge that and then ask for privacy.
"That’s why we’ve turned down interviews that have offered us tens of thousands of pounds. What I am happy to say is Kev’s amazing, I’m happy, life happens, I’ve got an amazing career and I’m very lucky."
And Stacey thought she deserved to win the prestigious Glitterball Trophy because she "worked really hard" to triumph in the series, and had no idea how to do the waltz before starring on the show.
Opening up about last year’s ‘Strictly’ final, she added: "I thought, ‘Why not? Someone’s got to win it.’ Yes! [I deserved to win] I worked really hard. I didn’t know how to waltz beforehand, I didn’t know what a ballroom frame looked like."
