Kem Cetinay is the third celebrity confirmed to be taking part in ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The ‘Love Island’ star may have made a name for himself stripping off and flashing his killer abs in the sun-soaked villa, but he’s decided to try his luck on the chilling skating rink when the reboot of the popular show returns to screens next year.
He said: "I still can’t believe I’m going to be on ‘Dancing on Ice’!
"Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I’d be strapping on a pair of skates and dancing in some Lycra. Anyone who knows me will know how competitive I am, so I’m going to work very hard to stay on my feet! I can’t wait to get my skates on."
The 21-year-old hunk’s announcement comes just hours after Cheryl Baker was confirmed as the second celebrity joining the programme in 2018.
The Bucks Fizz singer jumped at the chance to sign up to the skating show but admitted she was having second thoughts following her first training session and is wondering if it’s "too late" to back out of the competition.
The 63-year-old star said: "Yes, I have started training. I just fell over a couple of times. I started training yesterday and it was such huge fun and I’ve never skated. When I was about 12 but they used to give you these things that you could put on your legs so yesterday was the first time. I wasn’t feeling nervous because I didn’t know what to expect but as of yesterday I thought it was hard and they were giving me things to do and movements and now go on one leg and I thought ‘I can’t do that!’ Is it too late to say no?"
Bosses of the skating show have kept details of the forthcoming series under wraps, but Brooke Vincent – who is known for playing Sophie Webster in ‘Coronation Street’ – announced yesterday (30.10.17) that she had also agreed to show off her skills on the rink.
It’s believed more celebrities will be announced in due course but, for now, it’s been confirmed that Jason Gardiner has reclaimed his position on the judging panel alongside Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean – who previously mentored the contestants but have now switched positions – and Diversity dancer Ashley Banjo.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will return as hosts.
