Kelvin Fletcher loved experiencing Strictly Come Dancing with his family

Kelvin Fletcher was glad to experience ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ with his family.

The 36-year-old actor – who has daughter Marnie, three, and 18-month-old son Milo with wife Liz Marsland – took home the Glitterball trophy with partner Oti Mabuse in last year’s series, and he was delighted to have his loved ones nearby.

He told Hello! magazine: "We look back on the whole ‘Strictly’ experience fondly, one we experienced as a family together.

"We’ve been together for many years and we’re so happy with each other, in our little bubble."

Meanwhile, Kelvin is now taking full advantage of the ongoing coronavirus lockdown to revel in his happy home with his wife – whom he wed in 2015 – and their two children.

He said: "After an intense four or five months of regular family life being disrupted, to be at the other end of the spectrum, where I’m constantly at home, in a weird way, it couldn’t have come at a better time for me and Liz, and for the kids."

The former ‘Emmerdale’ star – who left the soap after 16 years in 2016 – was looking forward to the next steps in his career before the coronavirus pandemic hit and paused the auditions he had lined up.

While he was disappointed, he recognises the rare chance to "reset" and enjoy a break after the gruelling ‘Strictly’ schedule.

He added: "I had two or three weeks when I was auditioning and having productive meetings, then COVID hit.

"It has been a little frustrating as things were stopped in their tracks, but I’m treating it as an opportunity to reset and have a longer post-‘Strictly’ holiday than expected."
