Kellie Maloney is finding it "hard" to find love.
The 64-year-old reality star – who was known as Frank before undergoing gender reassignment in 2014 – has been on a number of dates she thought went well, but thinks guys don’t want a relationship with her in case people "judge" them.
She said: "Dating is a sad topic for me. I’m having problems with love. I want to date, of course, but it’s hard. I’ve been on a few good dinner dates with men but when they realise who I am, they make up an excuse and leave or never contact me again.
"I think they’re scared of being judged or it’ my history in boxing – I don’t know."
And Kellie would like to date a younger man, but thinks it would embarass her daughters, Emma, 39, Sophie, 21, and 15-year-old Libby.
She explained to Closer magazine: "The problem is that men my age freak out when they find out who I am and it cares them off. I’ve thought about younger men – I was asked out by a 28 year old the other day – but I have to be respectful to my daughters. I don’t want them to feel embarrassed."
Kellie recently suffered two setbacks when she was rejected by a dating agency and the guy she dined with on ‘Celebrity First Dates’ refused to allow their meeting to be shown on TV.
She said: "I was the only person whose date on ‘First Dates’ wasn’t aired.
"The man said he didn’t want it to be shown because he was embarrassed.
"And then I signed up for a dating site but when they realised who I was they said, ‘Sorry we can’t help you find what you’re looking for.’ "
