Kellie Bright is going vegan in January.
The ‘EastEnders’ star – who is known for playing Linda Carter in the soap – has decided to give up meat for a whole month next year as part of the famous Veganuary pledge, which aims to reduce the suffering of billions of animals and help the planet, and stop splashing so much cash online as part of her New Year’s resolution.
Speaking to Woman’s Own magazine, she said: "I am doing Veganuary! I’m going vegan for a month and I am going to stop online clothes shopping."
But, before then, she will gorge on some calorific treats over the festive season and is even more excited about it this year because of her sons Freddie, six, and Gene, 12 months.
She explained: "It just makes it really exciting again! Before I had them, I still really loved it but it didn’t have the same magic as when you were a kid. I think that’s the really lovely thing about having children or being around children."
But the same can’t be said for her alter ego as Linda’s family will be plagued with heartbreak over Christmas as they have just had the Queen Vic snatched from them.
She said: "It’s made me think how odd it will be to be here and now be in The Vic. The prospect of losing it taints Christmas but whatever happens, they’ve got each other."
