Kellie Bright is planning to try not to buy any clothes in 2020.
The ‘EastEnders’ actress – who plays Linda Carter on the BBC One soap – doesn’t want to splash out on any new garments next year in an attempt to improve her carbon footprint, but she expects it to be a tough ask.
She said: "I have decided I’m going to try not to buy any clothes next year, as a way of reducing my carbon footprint – fast fashion has a huge impact on the environment.
"I don’t need any clothes, so I should be able to get through a year without buying anything.
"That will be hard for me though, as I do love a garment.
Kellie will also be taking part in Veganuary, which encourages people to go vegan for the month of January.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: "I’m an ambassador for Veganuary, so I’ll be doing that.
"My main reason for being an ambassador for it is environmental."
Kellie’s latest big storyline has seen her character Linda Carter quietly battle alcoholism, and she found acting out drunk scenes "quite daunting".
She said: "I’ve never had to play being drunk consistently before – it’s quite daunting.
"I wanted a lot of real footage and listened to my fellow actors and any advice they had.
"Given the turnaround of filming here, it’s been one of the most challenging things I’ve ever had to do.
"I just had to do a lot of preparation so that when I walked into the studio I was ready to go and knew how drunk Linda needed to be in that particular scene."
