Keira Knightley set to star in The Nutcracker and The Four Realms

Keira Knightley has been cast in ‘The Nutcracker and The Four Realms’.
The 31-year-old actress is in talks to play the Sugar Plum Fairy in Disney’s upcoming adaptation of Peter Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet tale ‘The Nutcracker and The Mouse King’, and the story of the same name by E.T.A Hoffman, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actress is set to star alongside ‘Interstellar’s Mackenzie Foy, Misty Copeland and ‘The Shawshank Redemption’s Morgan Freeman.
The movie will follow a girl called Clara (played by Foy) who is given a nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve, only to discover she has been thrown into a magical world filled with gingerbread men when it reaches midnight.
The production will be directed by Lasse Hallstrom, whilst Mark Gordon will produce the adaptation, which was penned by Ashleigh Powell.
A release date for the film has yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, Keira – who has 15-month-old daughter Edie with her husband James Righton – was previously slammed by her ‘Begin Again’ director John Carney for having a huge "entourage" but has since been credited by her previous collaborators as being "utterly spectacular" to work with.
Speaking previously about the star, Mark Romanek said: "My experience with #keiraknightley was utterly spectacular on every level. I have no clue what this guy is talking about. #arrogants***head. My recollection of #keiraknightley’s ‘entourage’ was that her mum visited the set one day for an hour or two. (sic)"
Keira Knightley is set to appear on screens next in ‘Collateral Beauty’ alongside Will Smith.
