Ke$ha’s music producer has received death threats from some of her fans.
Dr. Luke, who allegedly taunted the ‘Timber’ hitmaker about her weight before she checked into the Timberline Knolls Centre, near Chicago, on January 3 after admitting she was suffering with anorexia and bulimia, could be in serious danger and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) are eager to track down who is responsible for sending him the abusive messages on Twitter.
The LAPD’S Threat Management Unit has filed legal documents, obtained by gossip website TMZ.com, seeking a search warrant to hunt down the identity of the people sending the American producer hate mail.
Police officers are taking the threats extremely seriously as one Twitter user gave Luke’s home address and phone number before urging followers to kill him.
The 40 year old, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, began receiving threatening messages after reports suggested he was to blame for Ke$ha’s issues and a friend claimed he once told the 26-year-old star that she "looks like a f**king refrigerator."
Ke$ha’s mother Pebe Sebert, who is also seeking treatment at the same facility for post-traumatic stress disorder, previously claimed Dr. Luke and the singer’s former manager David Sonenberg put her daughter under too much pressure to stay trim.
She recently said: "One time on a conference call Sonenberg was screaming, ‘You need to lose weight! I don’t care what you do… Take drugs, not eat, stick your fingers down your throat."
However, Dr. Luke and David have both denied the allegations and Luke released a statement sending the singer his best wishes.
He said: "It is unfortunate that at a time Ke$ha is suffering immensely and trying to heal at a treatment centre, her mother is taking this approach with the media. I give Ke$ha my utmost support and well wishes for a quick return to health."
