Keanu Reeves has come up with ideas for a third ‘John Wick’.
The 52-year-old Canadian actor-and-producer has reprised his role as the titular ex-hitman in ‘John Wick: Chapter 2’ and its success at the box office means another sequel is on the cards.
In an interview with Empire magazine, Reeves revealed he is keen to bring the character back for another outing and has already been coming up with plot ideas.
He said: "I think the opening of the film should be Wick just trying to escape from New York. Literally trying to get off the island. Maybe he asks [Lawrence Fisburne’s character] the Bowery King for help. Maybe John Leguizamo comes and helps me out, like, ‘John, I can’t do it, you’re excommunicado!’
"Maybe the High Table shows up. And then the High Table starts firing guns. And then maybe this kind of thing starts to happen between the High Table and Continental? Maybe John is the activator of this confrontation, and perhaps there’s a war? Wouldn’t that be awesome?!"
The second instalment is produced by Thunder Road Pictures and Lionsgate studios and sees Ian McShane, Ruby Rose and Tobias Segal star alongside ‘The Matrix’ actor.
Meanwhile Reeves’ stunt-coordinator-turned-director Chad Stahelski teased the expansion of the shady assassin’s underworld.
He said: "I’d say, if we were so lucky to continue the series, I’d like to expand the world maybe another 25 per cent. But then I’d like to go deeper into the world that people already know – another 50 per cent."
‘John Wick: Chapter 2’ is based around retired super-assassin John Wick whose quiet life gets turned upside down when Italian gangster Santino D’Antonio (Riccardo Scamarcio) tracks him down to claim the favour that he owes him.
Wick accepts the assignment to travel to Rome to kill D’Antonio’s sister Gianna D’Antonio (Claudia Gerini).
