Keanu Reeves fears for his safety after an obsessed ‘Matrix’ fan went to his house.
The 51-year-old actor – who portrayed Neo, a computer programmer drawn into a rebellion against the machines who simulate real life for most people in the sci-fi trilogy – was visited at home by the unnamed man last October, and was left a FedEx envelope in his mailbox.
In a reference to the first ‘Matrix’ film, the package contained a phone number with the instruction "I will call the cell provided tomorrow. We need to meet as I have already started building the new world. #masterbuilder.(sic)"
Los Angeles police officers are currently looking for the man, who they believe has an obsession with Keanu’s character, while the actor told them he is concerned for his safety because the guy – who he thinks suffers from a mental disorder – knows where he lives.
This isn’t the first time the ‘John Wick’ star has experienced unwanted visitors to his home.
In September 2014, two female intruders managed to get into the grounds of his home in the space of just two days.
One entered the Los Angeles mansion through an unlocked door and took a shower, before skinny dipping in his pool, where she was found by an employee.
Keanu wasn’t at home at the time, but a cleaning crew working at the property got suspicious of the woman’s behaviour and contacted the actor, who called police.
The female was taken away for mental evaluation, as was the woman who had broken in the previous day.
On that occasion, the ‘Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure’ star had been at home and discovered the intruder in his library in the early hours of the morning.
Keanu had been sleeping but got up to investigate after hearing sounds there at around 4am.
When he went into the room, he saw a woman in her mid-40s quietly sitting in a chair so calmly approached and began speaking to her.
The woman explained she had come to meet the hunky star, and he called emergency services.
